Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we are asked most often about adopting, applying, and finding a Maine Coon you have already seen somewhere else.
Browse the available Maine Coons, open the cat you are interested in, and use Apply to Adopt. That takes you to the adoption application with the cat already selected. Complete the form and submit it; you will get a reference number straight away.
Your application is stored and reviewed in the order it arrived. We read it against the cat you chose, then contact you by email to talk it through. You can read the full sequence on the adoption process page.
Cats are marked Reserved once an application has been approved for them. Reserving happens after we have spoken, not automatically on submitting a form. If a cat you like is already reserved you are still welcome to apply — arrangements sometimes change, and we can suggest similar cats.
Open that cat's page and use Find Similar Maine Coon, or go straight to Find a Maine Coon. Tell us what appealed to you about that particular cat and we will look for the closest match among our current and upcoming Maine Coons.
Yes. On the Find a Maine Coon page you can upload a JPG, PNG or WEBP image up to 5MB. It goes straight to our team along with your details. A screenshot is perfectly fine.
Yes. Paste the address of the page, post or listing where you saw the Maine Coon into the link field on the Find a Maine Coon form. You can send a link on its own, or together with a photo and a description.
Yes. Submit an enquiry describing what you are looking for and we will contact you when a matching Maine Coon comes up. You can also join the availability list using the email form at the bottom of any page.
Yes. Go straight to the adoption application and leave the cat selection blank. Fill in the preferences section — gender, colour and age — and we will match you against current and upcoming cats.
No. Submitting an application costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Fees are only discussed once we have spoken and both sides are happy to go ahead.
This is set per cat and shown on that cat's page, and we confirm exactly what it covers during the application conversation before anything is agreed.
